When two of the squad's most distinguished members exhibit unease regarding the ethical implications of their mission, they're betrayed by their commanders and exiled to a forsaken resort planet on the edge of the galaxy, pitting them against the grave dangers of alien space and, ultimately, their former comrades. Multiplayer combat is available in "Anarchy" mode. The game's story involves an exclusive confederation of the wealthy and influential, fiercely protected by a troop of elite mercenaries known as Dead Echo. "Echo" mode tracks players' performances in sequences from the single-player campaign. The single-player storyline develops through high-adventure missions set in a dangerous, abandoned paradise. Encouraging risky maneuvers and highly chaotic battles, the game's "Skillshot" feature rewards exceptionally precise, destructive, and creative hits with experience points, which are used to purchase character upgrades and unlock powerful weapons. In fact, to this day I have failed to gather the achievement for doing them all, on either version of the game.Bulletstorm is a futuristic first-person shooter with larger-than-life weaponry and arcade-paced combat. There is an impressive array of skillshots to be carried out, and some of them are incredibly hard to pull off. Grayson can shoot, kick, maim and generally torture all the enemies he comes across, and leashing a bad guy, before either kicking them off a cliff or into a cactus, soon becomes second nature. And once they are either leashed or thumped, time seems to slow down and a variety of options come into play, depending on the weapon we have equipped at the time. We find an Instinct Leash in the beginning of the game, and the Thumper is an upgrade to that this leash can either drag individual enemies towards us, or be “Thumped” into the ground to launch all the enemies in the area of effect into the air. There was a new weapon that made this all possible – the Thumper. The hook this time was the Skillshot system which rewarded you for killing enemies in new and amusing ways. Gears of War had the cover mechanic, as an example, and so it was with Bulletstorm. Now, a new game, as it was at launch, needs a new mechanic, a hook if you like to draw people in and differentiate itself from the other games in the genre.
